"You can only carry so much water back up the mountain. 15 liters at a time at most," says Delores, a mother of three. Now, she and other members of her community access their water from 5,000 liter tanks installed through a 2022 @childfund project. Rainwater is channeled and filtered for debris from the rooftop with each passing rainfall, while the massive tank volume is sufficient to get each family through dry times. "We're able to keep a lot cleaner now that we don't have to ration water to the last drop," says Dolores. "We couldn't bathe or wash dishes every day before. Now we have that 'luxury.'
