Post 2/2: Thanks to Feed More for putting their trust in me and allowing me to help share the stories and faces behind their work crucial across central Virginia. I've spent the last couple weeks hanging out with some fabulous volunteers and clients at food banks from here to the NC border. Looking for an awesome organization to invest in? Seeking to make an impact in your community? Feed More's work is vital to food security in our commonwealth. Take it from the client's themselves:

"This is going to last for a good bit and I appreciate that," says Ashton White, a student at J. Sargent Reynolds Community College, shown in the first photograph here. "Because sometimes I don't know where my next meal's going to come from, so sometimes most of my meals will be peanut butter and crackers and stuff like this is very helpful and very beneficial."

“My wife’s got cancer and sometimes we have a lot of medical bills and I have to come down [to the pantry],” says Joseph Keeton, Jr., pictured 2nd in this post. “Sometimes it takes everything we both have to, you know, just to eat. [Without this food pantry] probably we’d starve some days, or some months.”

Moms (and a dad) bring their infant and newborn children to a routine vaccination day at a @ChildFund supported health care center in Katakwi District, Uganda. ChildFund's community networks help to get the word out to rural areas when events like this occur, mobilizing caregivers to bring their children for crucial preventative care against diseases like polio, measels and rotavirus. a world where the necessities of life take so much more time and effort to obtain, it's no wonder why play often gets pushed to the backburner. @childfund 's Come Play With Me project helps caregivers understand the importance of play in their children's development and in strengthening relationships at home. Learning tablets containing educational games and activities were introduced to families during the COVID-19 pandemic. They have continued to be a helpful resource for learning and engagement at home.

"When I was a child, my parents saw play as a waste of time. Now I see that playing is instrumental in my children's growth," says Milly, age 37, a mother of six.
