I am starting to develop my dissertation, MA Architecture Sustainability & Design, and I would like to research and make some proposals related to the Pueblos Jovenes in Lima. Which pueblo joven is the one of the pictures? Villa el Salvador? Do you have contacts over there? I am not available to travel to Peru, so I'm trying to stablish direct contacts to be my eyes in Lima. I'm pretty open to ideas and suggestions of experienced people that have experienced a pueblo joven, that could help me to open my mind. Afterwards I could generate an idea related with sustainable architecture that could be applied realistically to a pueblo joven. Please, I appreciate if you could give me any advise. The peruvians are not proud of it, and the tourists from western countries are climbing the inca trail and not kilometre 14 away from central lima. Its sad to see poverty on a beautiful country. The contrast of the wealthy and poor in Lima is incredible. They are so close together, phisically, but yet so apart economically and culturally. Peru is starting to "pick up" and the economical situation is improving. Believe it or not, we are better off today that we were 5 years ago. I hope one day, ALL peruvians could enjoy a great life and be proud, like I am, to be peruvian. I am 19 years old and I am from Lima (Surco), Peru.
